Terrifying Pink Thing
The Terrifying Pink Thing is a cryptid similar to Bigfoot or the Ohio Grassman that has been haunting the southern Ohio area (and possibly beyond) for at least the last 2.5 centuries. Known by multiple names, most frequently das rosenungetüm, or the “rose ogre”, the TPT stands around 6’4” and is estimated to be approximate 350-400 pounds. The TPT is also an alternate reality game that utilizes multiple websites, spaces, videos, performances, and objects to tell its story. Viewers are encouraged to hunt for clues and solve puzzles to get the most out of the experience. This page contains minor spoilers for the narrative.
Luscinia Historical Society
The Luscinia Historical Society (LHS) is the trailhead of the narrative, acting as the first step most will engage with when starting off. It is currently undergoing some massive changes in both staff and structure. I play a semi-fictional version of myself, acting as the current Archivist for the organization, attempting to uncover the residual evidence of das Rosenungetüm.
Pink Acolyte Union
The Pink Acolyte Union (PAU) is an artist collective based in Cincinnati that has documented activities ranging as far back as 1925. It is the primary source of the Luscinia Historical Society’s collection — many of the objects are either artworks created by its members or papers from their estates. It is unclear the motives or intentions of the PAU, but they seem to be at the very least cordial towards the Luscinia Historical Society. Their current leader is an anonymous artist who goes by the mononym Endeeyoh.
Performance
Recently, the Terrifying Pink Thing was manifested into our world in corporeal form. Originally a spiritual influence on artists, the TPT has taken it upon themselves to create artwork of their own in the form of music and performance. Their debut performance occurred at the Satellite Art Show in Austin, TX during SXSW March 12-15, 2025. Their first single, gorls, was released as a part of Weird Music Night Record’s first mixtape, a collection of covers and reconstructions of Cindi Lauper’s Girls Just Wanna Have Fun. Their first EP was released on December 10, 2025 featuring vocal performances by Pink Acolyte Endeeyoh. The Terrifying Pink Thing is currently working on releasing their first LP, tentatively titled lo-fi ska to creep and stalk the woods to.
